Blueberry View Artist Retreat - July 2011
I had a delightful experience staying, working, creating and visiting at Blueberry View Artist Retreat in Riverside, Michigan. Two weeks of time to unleash my creativity was amazing! And, lucky for me, I was there as the blueberries were starting to ripen so not only did I have a view of the blueberry field, I got to sample it as well!
The Tin Shop - April 2009, September 2010
Breckenridge is an outstanding example of a Colorado mining boomtown. With historic buildings in town dating from 1862 and ending in 1942, the town has developed into a world class community with many fine amenities. It is located in the heart of the Ten Mile Range, allowing a mountainous wilderness to be located at it's back door.
The Tin Shop is a restored historic building that has a small studio apartment on the upper level and an artists studio on the main level. The vision for the Tin Shop is to provide a space for artists to work on their medium of choice, while providing public interaction in the form of open studio hours and workshops to compliment the growing Arts District. I traveled to Colorado to be the guest artist at "The Tin Shop" in April of 2009 and was invited to return in September 0f 2010. While there I continued work on my newest mixed media pursuits, presented a workshop on Artist Trading Cards and one on gelatin printmaking, explored some new artistic endeavors and toured/photographed the local scenery. I feel honored to have been choosen for this residency - it was a life-changing experience!

Mary Anderson Center - October 2005, October 2007
Although no longer operational, The Mary Anderson Center in southern Indiana was my first introduction to artist retreat/residency programs. No matter the length of my stay I was always left wanting more! A charming house, a calving barn transformed into studios and acres of land to wander, this secluded get-away was a wonderful place to retreat and create.
Artist Intership - October 2011
Honored to be invited, I enjoyed a two-day artist internship at Belmont High School in Decatur, Indiana in October 2011. I had the opportunity to interact with several classes and did a two-day art project with the AP Studio Class. To see some of the student's work from that day read this blog post!
