These images were all created using the computer as a tool. I consider them to be "digital collage" as they incorporate a variety of sources/media, much like a collage that is assembled on a canvas using a variety of papers, paints and other objects. Many of these creations have photography, scanned images, photos or scans of hand created paintings & prints and even some clip art or text incorporated into the design. Most have various colors and textures "painted" onto them with the computer as well.

2009 and earlier...

These images were all created from photographs. Many of these images are a combination of more than one photograph, layered on top each other and blended in a variety of ways. I think of them as "photographic art" where an image has been enhanced or altered to make it more artistic. I began experimenting with this process before moving on to other forms of digital art. You'll even find a "Best of Show" image plus a 1st Place award winner from the Indiana State Fair hiding within this page!

I also create "digital collage" pieces that might incorporate photography into it but have many other sources/media, such as scanned images, clip art, text, digital "painting" and photos/scans of hand created paintings and prints. Those images are shown above..

People/Faces

Scenery/Nature

Arrtwork that was created on a computer, or digitally. I consider these "pure" digital art images as I have not added scanned or photographic images within the artwork. Everything you see was created using the computer as a creative tool.

The first group of images are basically 2D computer graphics. The creation process mimics how you might draw using a pencil and a piece of paper but in this case the image is on the computer screen and the instrument you draw with is a tablet stylus or a mouse. What is generated on your screen can have the appearance of being drawn with a pencil, pen or paintbrush. After being created the images can be further manipulated with various computer graphics programs.

The second group of images are fractal art. These images were created using a fractal program that generates images through coded algorithms that are then processed by the computer. They can be considered a "native" art form of the computer as they cannot be produced without a computer. Once created they can also be manipulated with various other graphics programs.
