Just as I do with my fine art, I love exploring the possibilities in portrait photography! Working with my clients to capturing images reflecting a natural and relaxed state is my quest. Those moments feel "true" to me, whether smiling or contemplative, I am seeking the essence and personality rather than working in tightly staged poses and forced smiles. I feel that the extra time & effort is well worth the genuine results that this approach rewards us with!
Shooting portraits in natural light and discovering new places to photograph my clients helps in this quest. Is there a place that’s “you” - where you’d love to be photographed? Downtown Indy, perhaps? At a favorite park? Close to the water? In rural area with fields and barns as a backdrop? Even your own backyard! I want your portrait session to be something that’s personal to you so let’s work together to make them unique. Bring your ideas, music, props, pets, friends - pretty much anything goes when we are creating images together!
Although location shoots are my favorite, I have several acres of outdoor space available at my studio with trees, gardens, a pond, fence rows and an open field as backdrops for creating your special images. I no longer have a dedicated photography studio for indoor portraits but I do have a small area in my art studio that can be used for head shots, babies & small children.
Sessions are very relaxed with plenty of time for exploration, play and rest when needed - for children AND adults! Depending on the type of portraits we are creating you should allow one to three hours in your schedule.
