There is a strong curiosity & desire within me to explore many different art mediums. As an artist born & living in Indiana, I have been captivated and involved with art my entire life. Being an only child for the first 10 years of my life I spent much of my time in my own creative little world. Some of my earliest memories are those of curling up in a chair with paper and pencil and being lost for hours in the creative process. Even before these memories my parents frequently tell stories of the pages of paper filled entirely with tiny little circles that I declared were potatoes!

With the exception of basic art classes in high school, select photography classes and occasional workshops, I am a self-educated artist. I enjoy researching, experimenting and learning at my own pace. During my 20's & 30's my artistic pursuits were limited to occasional sketches and photos of home and loved ones as my husband, Mark, and I raised our four children. When our youngest daughter started high school I began to pursue my art interests again. Starting with photography classes I slowly rekindled my passion for art. Now it would be a rare day to find me without a camera tucked away nearby! Gathering equipment and supplies eventually led to starting my own portrait studio where I enjoy infusing images with artistic style. From basic photography my interests began to spread like wildfire! Experimenting with alternate photo processes, digital techniques and hand-painting photos led me to pursuing digital art, mixed media collage & painting. Mark & I also assemble welded art pieces, using a variety of metal objects.

In addition to exploring different media and techniques independently I have attended workshops/classes on Polaroid techniques, pottery, fused glass, drawing and watercolors. I have given presentations, workshops and one-on-one instruction on hand-coloring photos, photography, Polaroid Transfers, collage and digital art. I enjoy working with children and teens as well as adults. Along with my artistic activities I enjoy writing poetry, traveling, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
