| Mixed Media: On Canvas or Wood |
"music in motion" commission art on wood panel, November 2011 |
Mixed media can take so many different forms! This portfolio features art on the more traditional backgrounds of canvas or wood panels. Although many of the pieces are quite textural they are less dimensional than the mixed media wall sculptures featured in the next portfolio. |
| Mixed Media: Wall Sculptures |
"heat", mixed media wall sculpture, July 2011 | These mixed media wall sculptures are made from a variety of art materials, many including found objects and other surprises! Although created to hang on the wall they are more three-dimensional than traditional wall hung art made on canvas. To really appreciate them make an appointment to view them in person! |
| Mixed Media: Shadow Boxes |
"river rocks #2" 2009 | One of my most popular series of work, these pieces fall somewhere between traditional wall art and three dimensional wall sculptures. Combining aluminum & ink to create the brilliantly colored shapes most pieces include other items ranging from wire to machinery parts to beads. All the larger pieces are professionally framed in black shadow boxes, the smaller "mini art" piece are framed in 5x7 shadow boxes to match thier background colors, either black or white. |
| Mixed Media: On Illustration Board |
"first snow" mixed media on illustration board, 2010 |
A new style of art started in 2010, mixed media art on illustration board! A bit more "organized" type of creation, I have enjoyed making these pieces immensely. Illustration board holds up well to this process which includes, wax, acrylic & watercolor paints, markers - even sand on some pieces! |
| Portrait Photography |
portrait sample |
On this page you will find a selection of images from my 11 years as a portriat photographer. Slide shows include: High School Seniors, Children, Family/Adults/Couples, Wedding and Pregnancy. Links to pricing for portraits and weddings are also included on the page. With this addition to my portfolio I will be phasing out the separate portrait website I have been maintaining. After all this is Lynne Medsker Art and Photography, it seems natural to have all this information on one site! |

Although, by default, the bulk of my photography tends to be portraits I also enjoy travel, nature and macro photography. You'll find samples of all those with these pages. Some of my favorite days are those I spent on the road exploring, just my camera & I, making two hour trip last 8 hours as I hop in & out of my vehicle to capture images all along the way! |
| Photographic & Digital Artwork |
"rock my world #7" digital art on aluminum, 2011 |
In addition to taking photos I love to play with the pixels and colors on the computer, changing realistic to fantasy. Nature, people & scenery are all fair game when I'm feeling creative! Occasionally I skip the photo part of the equation and just create artwork using a blank file as my canvas adding the colors, marks & designs by digital means. Fractal art, generated through coded algorithms, is included in this category too! |
| Paintings |
"winter bloom" watercolor/collage on paper, December 2011 |
The majority of my acrylic works are "fair weather" projects. I love to set up outdoors in the spring & fall when the weather is comfortable and just paint with abandon. No floors or walls to worry about, I can dribble, squirt and fling paint without a care. What fun! The warm air, sunshine & breezes make the paint dry quickly too, so there's generally little waiting time in between adding layers - another plus! When the outdoors isn't available I also play with paint on paper inside the studio. |
| Works on Paper: Mandalas |
""mandala #61" 2011 |
Creating mandalas has become an addiction for me! Making the repetitive patterns is a soothing, almost meditative process. I love the portability of the few supplies needed, these can be made almost anywhere! |
| More Works on Paper: Printmaking, Collage, ATC's |
untitled print, December 2011 |
More explorations on paper! |
| Commissioned Work |
commissioned artwork for Johnson Chiropractic, Guyman, Oklahoma |
A selection of artwork that has been commissioned during the last several years. Browse around the portfolios, if you see something you'd like but it's not quite the right color, size or needs something personal added then it's time for YOU to commission a piece -I love creating piece specifically for clients! |
| Collaborations |
collaborative mixed media with Noble of Indiana |
Although I create most of my artwork while I am alone I certainly enjoy the times I am able to collaborate with other artists. Collaborating with my husband making metal art has been a wonderful experience, when we get into the creative mode it almost seems effortless! You will also find other collaborations in this portfolio with friends and with charitable organizations. |
| Other Art |
handmade journal from recycled materials |
As if I didn't have enough categories it seems like there are still some miscellaneous items that don't seem to fit anywhere except "Other"! |
